I've been using Jovie of Raleigh for the past couple of years through my employer's Bright Horizons backup care benefit, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. As parents of a toddler in daycare, we inevitably run into those stressful situations — sick days, center closures, teacher in-service days — where we suddenly need reliable, last-minute childcare. Jovie has come through for us every single time. The nannies they've sent to our home have been, without exception, kind, warm, and genuinely great with our son. What impresses me most isn't just that they show up prepared — it's how communicative they are throughout the day. Whether my partner and I are working from home in the next room or heading into the office, we always know exactly what's going on: updates on how he's doing, what they did together, what he ate. There's never been a moment where we had to chase anyone down for information. The peace of mind that comes with that is hard to overstate. When you're on back-to-back work calls and your kid is having a rough sick day, knowing there's a capable, caring person in the other room who will actually keep you in the loop makes a world of difference. The booking process through the Bright Horizons portal is straightforward, and Jovie has always been responsive on their end when coordinating details. Every caregiver has arrived on time, professional, and ready to engage — not just babysit, but engage — with our son. If you're in the Raleigh area and have access to backup care through Bright Horizons, Jovie should absolutely be your first call. Please note: I'm not sure how much they cost out of pocket, so I can't speak to their prices.
