Part-Time Nanny Needed

Job Description:

• Jovie of Pittsburgh is seeking a warm, dependable, and engaging part-time nanny for a wonderful family in Pittsburgh, PA 15223!
  
  This family is looking for someone special to join their family long-term and care for their energetic 2½-year-old son. They are also excited to welcome a new addition, (baby number two) at the end of October, so this is a wonderful opportunity for a caregiver who enjoys being part of a growing family.
  
  The family is not looking to rush the hiring process — they are committed to finding the right long-term fit for their family and someone who will become a positive and trusted part of their children's early years.
  
  Schedule & Guaranteed Hours
  
  
  • Monday, Wednesday & Friday
  • Typically will be about 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
  • There may be opportunities for a schedule between 7:00 AM–1:00 PM, depending on the family's needs and caregiver availability
  • Minimum of 12 guaranteed hours per week
  
  
  About The Family
  Their son is a happy, energetic toddler who loves to stay busy, explore, and interact with the people around him. He has a speech delay and has participated in Early Intervention speech therapy, so his family is looking for a caregiver who will naturally incorporate language development into his everyday routine.
  
  You’ll help support communication skills by:
  
  
  • Talking with him throughout the day
  • Reading books together
  • Singing songs and nursery rhymes
  • Encouraging him to communicate and express himself
  • Introducing new vocabulary
  • Engaging in interactive, play-based activities
  • No formal speech therapy experience is required — the family is looking for someone who is patient, encouraging, and excited to support his development through everyday interactions.
  
  
  What You'll Do
  This is an active, play-focused position. Your time with their son will center around keeping him engaged, learning, and having fun. Note - care will eventually involve his newborn sister; caregiver must be confident balancing both sets of needs. 
  
  You may spend your mornings:
  
  • Exploring creative and educational activities
  • Reading and singing together
  • Playing games and engaging in imaginative play
  • Spending time outdoors when weather permits
  • Encouraging communication through play
  • Keeping toddler “moving and grooving”
  • Creating a fun, nurturing, and language-rich environment
  • Child currently takes one nap each day, but Mom plans to handle nap time after returning home, so your time with him will primarily focus on active play, enrichment, and connection.
  
  
  A Growing Family
  The family is expecting their daughter, at the end of October. The ideal candidate should be comfortable caring for both toddlers and infants and excited about growing with the family as their needs evolve. The grandparents are also very involved in his life and may occasionally stop by to visit. The family is looking for someone who is comfortable with a warm, connected household and enjoys being part of a supportive family environment.
