Job Description:
- Engaging Nanny for Active Toddler – Guaranteed Hours & Professional Medical Family
Location: Edmond / Oklahoma City (New Construction Neighborhood)
Schedule: Part-Time with Guaranteed Pay
Frequency: Average of 2 days per week (8 shifts per month).
Hours: Typically 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Occasional half-days (approx. 4–5 hours) or extended starts (as early as 6:30 AM). 10 hours a week are guaranteed.
Stability: While the specific days vary each week due to the parents' medical shifts, the family offers guaranteed weekly hours to ensure consistent income for the right caregiver.
Position Overview
A professional medical family recently relocated from Atlanta is seeking a patient, kind, and reliable nanny to care for their 2-year-old daughter. Both parents are dedicated medical professionals (a surgeon and a medical educator) who value a "correct with kindness" approach. This is a long-term opportunity for a caregiver who wants to become an extension of a high-functioning, organized, and welcoming household.
The Child
2-year-old girl: A "firecracker" who is highly verbal and expressive. She is currently running, climbing, and learning to lead her own play.
Personality: She is sweet and fun but "slow to warm up" to new people. She needs a nanny who is gentle and won't "come on too strong" initially.
Interests: Loves bubbles, baby dolls, singing, music, and her water table.
Routine: She is sleep-trained and goes down independently for a 2-hour daily nap. She is an excellent eater who enjoys homemade meals.
Key Responsibilities
Active Engagement: Follow the child's lead in play, focusing on sensory activities, singing, and outdoor time on the covered patio.
Routine Management: Maintain a consistent nap and meal schedule. Prepare simple, healthy homemade meals and snacks.
Household Support (During Nap Time): Assist with the child's laundry, loading/unloading the dishwasher, and light tidying of play areas to keep the home organized.
Safety First: Maintain a vigilant eye as the child explores her new two-story home and yard.
Home Environment
New construction home with a large, fenced-in backyard and covered porch.
Pet-Free: No pets in the home.
Shoe-Free: The family maintains a clean environment and asks that shoes be kept in the mudroom.
Professional Standards: Both parents work outside the home. The household is organized, respectful, and values clear, kind communication.
Requirements
Experience: At least 2 years of experience with toddlers.
Demeanor: Extremely patient, sweet, and soft-spoken. Ability to build trust slowly with a cautious child.
Professionalism: Must be highly reliable and punctual, as the parents have fixed hospital/clinic shifts.
Safety & Health: CPR/First Aid certified. The family prefers candidates who are up-to-date on Flu and Tdap vaccinations.
Transportation: Must have a reliable vehicle and a clean driving record.
Commitment: Looking for a nanny who can commit for at least 1–2 years to provide the child with stability.
