Schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays | 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM (9 guaranteed hours/week)

About the Family & Role
Jovie of Edmond is seeking a warm, engaging, and grounded after-school nanny for a wonderful, active family with two young children (ages 5 and 7 in Kindergarten and 1st Grade).
This family offers a supportive, fun, and creative home environment with healthy boundaries. They prioritize positive encouragement, hands-on play, and allowing kids to be kids over rigid structure. Their ideal caregiver is someone who brings a calm, nurturing energy to the after-school transition, loves being creative, and is enthusiastic about spending time outdoors!
Key Responsibilities:
• School Pickup: Meet the children at school dismissal at 3:00 PM and safely transport them home.
• After-School Decompression: Help guide a gentle post-school transition with quiet activities, healthy snacks, coloring, and listening to music.
• Engaged Play: Participate in imaginative pretend play, building forts, drawing/crafts, dancing, and outdoor activities like bike riding or backyard play.
• Basic Care & Housekeeping: Prepare basic after-school snacks, assist with homework help if needed, and assist with light tidying up after play and snack time.
Ideal Candidate Traits & Skills
• Empathetic & Patient: Skilled at helping children navigate post-school fatigue and transitions with warmth, gentle redirection, and understanding.
• Neurodiversity-Informed: Prior experience or training working with children with ADHD is highly valued (e.g., understanding overstimulation and sensory decompression needs).
• Creative & Enthusiastic: Loves art, crafts, music, dancing, and active play rather than screen-based activities.
• Pet-Friendly: Comfortable around dogs (the family has one friendly, well-trained German Shepherd).
• Flexible & Reliable: Dependable attendance with occasional flexibility for added afternoon coverage as needed.
Jovie Minimum Hiring Requirements
To be considered for employment with Jovie, candidates must meet the following minimum standards:
• Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of professional, verifiable childcare experience (outside of immediate family) with stellar references.
• Possess a valid driver’s license, a reliable personal vehicle, and a clean motor vehicle driving record.
• Hold (or be willing to obtain) active CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, sex offender registry check, and driving record check.
• Demonstrate strong, professional communication skills, punctuality, and a high commitment to safety.
