Job Description:
- Job Title: Part-Time Nanny (Southern Highlands Area)
Jovie of Las Vegas is seeking a reliable, engaged, and structured part-time nanny for a welcoming work-from-home family relocating to the Southern Highlands area. This role focuses on providing dedicated one-on-one attention to a bright, highly social 5-year-old boy. You will frequently work side-by-side in a supportive two-on-one environment alongside his in-home ABA therapist.
Schedule and Commitment:
* Days: Monday through Friday
* Hours: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Guaranteed hours)
* Type: Long-term part-time position
* Commitment: Minimum of one year required
* Start Date: Mid August
Key Responsibilities:
* Engaged Play and Connection: Provide high-quality, screen-free engagement tailored to his interests, including numbers, board games, Hot Wheels, assembling educational boxes, and indoor/outdoor sports play.
* Mealtime Management: Actively sit with the child during breakfast and lunch to keep him gently focused and prompted to eat (meals can take 30 to 60 minutes).
* Routine and Transitions: Maintain a predictable schedule using clear, 5–10-minute transition warnings.
* Light Tidying: Clean up collectively with the child after activities, wash dishes used during the shift, and tidy the kitchen area.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a reliable and dependable caregiver who brings a balance of engagement styles that have worked wonderfully for our family in the past. The ideal candidate will possess a mix of the following qualities:
Patient & Analytical: A calm individual who loves guiding structured, hands-on learning activities and takes the time to explain the "why" behind instructions with logical patience.
Active & Energetic: Someone who loves jumping into active movement, whether that’s throwing a football or playing soccer.
Highly Dependable: A consistent, reliable presence who can seamlessly shift from focused, quiet learning to high-energy outdoor play.
Critical Traits:
* Extreme Reliability: Because the child is intensely routine-oriented and anticipates your arrival, absolute punctuality and strong communication are essential. Flaky or unannounced lateness is highly disruptive.
* Calm Demeanor: Ability to remain entirely low-energy and supportive if the child experiences frustration or a meltdown.
* Inclusion: Willingness to patiently include the child in basic electronic or appliance tasks (like pressing the button on the microwave or coffee maker), which is a key interest of his.
