  Schedule: Part-Time, Monday through Friday (3:30 PM – 6:30 PM, ~15 hours/week)

  About the Family
  
  Jovie of Greater Kansas City is excited to partner with a wonderful local family in the Waldo area as they seek a dedicated, professional after-school nanny for their two school-aged daughters (ages 5 and 9). The family maintains a warm, positive household where emotional support, gentle routines, and engaging activities are deeply valued. The home features a friendly, low-maintenance family dog, and a third-floor attic home office is utilized by a parent who works remotely on West Coast hours.
  
  The Role & Responsibilities
  
  We are looking for an energetic, loving, and organized caregiver who can seamlessly manage the afternoon transition from school and provide structured, positive support. Key responsibilities include:
  
  School Pickup & Transportation: Safely picking up the children from a local neighborhood school (using a booster seat as needed) and facilitating timely arrivals to after-school activities such as soccer, cross-country, and martial arts practice.
  
  Homework & Routine Support: Guiding the older child through daily homework routines, offering gentle reminders to stay on task, checking completed work, and ensuring backpacks and planners are organized for the next school day.
  
  After-School Engagement: Providing a warm, comforting environment with plenty of positive reinforcement (utilizing a family reward system for unprompted positive behaviors), engaging in art, reading, journaling, and assisting with light snack preparation.
  
  Household Assistance: Helping start simple family dinners, tackling light daily cleanup (rinsing dishes, loading the dishwasher), and folding and organizing the children's school uniforms so they are ready for the week.
  
  Jovie’s Mandatory Hiring Requirements
  
  To ensure the highest standard of care and safety for our families, all candidates considered for this position must successfully meet Jovie’s comprehensive pre-hire requirements:
  
  
  • Experience & Education: Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience, verified professional references, and a minimum of a high school diploma.
  • Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to complete them through Jovie prior to placement).
  • Driving & Transportation: Own a reliable vehicle, possess a valid driver's license, and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Comprehensive Background Screening: Must successfully pass a rigorous background check.
