Part-Time Nanny / Caregiver Needed – Engagement, Crafts & Light Household Help

Job Description:

• Jovie of Greater Kansas City is seeking a patient, gentle, and engaging nanny to support a sweet family and their preschooler! This role is ideal for a caregiver who is naturally encouraging, active in one-on-one play, and comfortable offering a comforting presence to help a child build confidence and stay engaged throughout the day.
  
  Schedule & Start Date
  
  Start Date: As soon as the right candidate is found
  
  Schedule: 2 non-consecutive days per week (flexible on exact days) with 16 hours guaranteed per week. 
  
  Key Responsibilities
  
  Active Engagement & Play: Lead fun, hands-on activities like arts and crafts (coloring, cutting, gluing), building forts, sidewalk chalk, outdoor play, and imaginative play with stuffed animals.
  
  Routine & Learning Support: Follow the daily structure, including guiding 30–60 minutes of a mom-provided homeschool preschool curriculum, serving lunch and small snacks, and accompanying the child on outings to local parks, libraries, or classes.
  
  Light Household Help: Unload/load the dishwasher, assist with laundry as time allows, and occasionally let the family puppy in and out.
  
  Qualifications & Requirements
  
  Caregiver Style: Gentle, reassuring, and comforting rather than overly energetic or pushy. Ability to build trust with a shy child and ease separation anxiety through engaging play.
  
  Pet / Health Requirement: Must be comfortable around a puppy. Important: Due to severe household allergies/asthma, candidates must have a pet hair/dander-free environment and arrive in clothing entirely free of cat hair.
  
  Safety: Clean driving record and reliable transportation for occasional outings or school pickups.
  
  Must pass a comprehensive background check and possess valid CPR/First Aid certification (or be willing to obtain it).
  
  
  Minimum of 2 years professional childcare experience with 3-5 references
