Now Hiring: Professional Nanny / Educator Archetype (South Olathe)

Position Type: Full Time

Position Location: Olathe, KS

Office: Jovie of Greater Kansas City

Job Description:

  • Jovie of Greater Kansas City is looking for an exceptional, active, and education-minded nanny for a wonderful professional family in South Olathe, Kansas. This is a long-term position designed for a caregiver who loves building deep bonds with children, thrives in an outdoor-loving environment, and enjoys bringing structure and creative learning into a child’s daily routine.

The family includes three sweet children: a curious and expressive 4-year-old, an independent and caring 2-year-old, and a very easygoing newborn. Both parents work from home in dedicated offices and are excited to partner with a nanny who feels like a natural extension of the team.

    🗓️ Schedule & Placement Details

    Weekly Work Schedule

This position offers a reliable, consistent weekly routine totaling 33 hours per week:

    Monday: 11:30 AM – 4:30 PM

    Tuesday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

    Wednesday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

    Thursday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

    Friday: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Start Date: Fall placement (August focus; July at the earliest)

Commitment: Minimum of 6 months to 1 year required (family is looking for a long-term fit to grow with them over the next several years)

Weekly Rhythm: School-year focus. The two older children attend preschool on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings (8:30 AM – 11:30 AM). You will be responsible for their morning routine and drop-off/pick-up.

🎨 The Ideal Candidate Profile: The "Teacher" Archetype

This family is not looking for a passive supervisor; they want a nanny who is genuinely enthusiastic about childhood development.

Creative & Structured: You love putting together a loose "lesson plan" or structured daily outline for the day—designating time for specific arts, crafts, and imaginative play.

All-Weather Outdoor Enthusiast: The kids love the outdoors! You should be ready to go on bike rides, walks to the neighborhood park, play in the dirt, garden, or bundle up for winter snow days.

Life-Skill Mentor: The family values teaching independence. You will naturally integrate the older girls into daily tasks—turning light cleanup, dish rinsing, and folding their laundry into a fun, collaborative team effort.

Basic Educational Engagement: You naturally inject casual educational challenges (letters, numbers, shapes, and colors) into everyday play to help the older girls prepare for preschool milestones.

Infant Experience: Comfortable managing a gentle, baby-led routine for a newborn (bottle-feeding breast milk, paced burping, and practicing safe, soothing sleep techniques).

    📋 Key Responsibilities

Active Childcare: Providing a safe, nurturing, and highly engaging environment for all three children.

Transportation: Driving the older girls to and from their local preschool (using your reliable vehicle or a family vehicle).

Child-Related Household Tasks: Keeping play areas and the girls' bedrooms tidy, prepping and cleaning up their meals, and handling the children's laundry.

Screen-Time Boundaries: Keeping the day entirely device-free. Screen time is highly restricted in this home and reserved strictly as a limited, parent-approved wind-down treat.

    🛡️ Jovie Minimum Hiring Requirements

To be considered for this position, all candidates must meet Jovie’s professional vetting benchmarks:

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional, verifiable childcare experience (nanny, daycare, or teaching background preferred).

Background Screening: 100% completion of a comprehensive criminal background check, Social Security trace, address history verification, and National Sex Offender Registry check.

Driving Record: A clean DMV record evaluation and valid driver's license.

Safety Training: Full completion of Jovie’s comprehensive onboarding safety curriculum (covering water safety, safe sleep, transport compliance, and safe body mechanics).

Professionalism: Exceptional communication skills, clear professional boundaries, a proactive attitude, and adherence to a strict zero-vaping/smoking and zero-personal-cell-phone policy while on duty.

Risk Assessment: Compliance with Jovie's annual continuous monitoring protocol.

💡 Household Note: This is a professional work-from-home household with a dedicated, cooperative dynamic.

If you are a creative, high-energy caregiver who loves the outdoors and wants to make a long-term impact on a growing family, we would love to meet you!
