Part-Time Nanny Needed – Portage Park (Chicago)

A warm and welcoming family in the Portage Park neighborhood is seeking a reliable, part-time (as-needed) nanny to care for their two children — a 4-year-old and a 4-month-old baby.

Schedule & Flexibility:

The family is looking for help a few times per month from 4:00–7:00 PM. Scheduling will be provided at least a few weeks in advance. They hope to gradually increase hours as trust and rapport develop. Some schedule flexibility is appreciated.

Transportation:

A car is required for this role. While driving distances are short, traffic may result in about an hour of total drive time, so comfort with city driving is important.

Ideal Candidate:

They are looking for someone kind, patient, and engaging—especially someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and adores babies. The right person will be dependable, caring, and warm.

Responsibilities Include:

Bottle-feeding the infant

Hiring FT sitters for the following suburbs. We need two FT sitters in each of the following areas for daytime jobs!

1. Glenview, Northbrook, Wilmette, Winnetka, Deerfield, Glencoe, Highland Park and Skokie.

2. LaGrange, Western Springs, Oak Park, River Forest, Hinsdale, and Downers Grove.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

4-5 days available Monday through Friday, 7am-7pm. Guaranteed 20-30 hours per week, depending on how many days you have available. Mileage compensation after 10 miles.

1+ year(s) childcare, babysitter or nanny experience, preferably including infant and toddler experience.

Must have a reliable insured vehicle for travel to family homes.

Minimum age of 18, valid driver’s license

CPR trained or willing to receive training.

Benefits:

Pay $20-22 per hour- start up to $24 if FT, long term, with car, and in above suburbs

Onboarding bonus after first 6, 12 and 20 jobs.
