Job Description:

  • A charming family is seeking a reliable and engaging caregiver to provide part-time care for their 10-year-old autistic child. The child is happy, well-behaved, and thrives with consistent routines and positive guidance.

    Schedule:
    Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
    Saturdays: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM (flexibility available)

    Location:
    43015 (Lewis Center Area)

    Child Profile:
    10-year-old autistic child
    Communicates using short answers rather than conversational speech
    Requires gentle guidance and advance warnings during transitions
    Working on sentence development and conversational skills

    Care Responsibilities:
    Engage the child in developmentally appropriate activities (play, reading, building, sensory toys)
    Support communication and language development through modeling and interaction
    Assist with smooth transitions between activities
    Supervise and engage in indoor and outdoor activities including walks, reading, and sensory play. 
    Maintain a calm, structured, and supportive environment

    Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
    Dependable, patient, and attentive caregiver
    Experience with autism or neurodivergent children preferred
    Comfortable supporting communication and social development

        We ask that you:
        • Are available to work at least 3 days a week (Monday- Saturday) from 7 am-7 pm (shifts are 8-10 hours long) ensuring we can provide you with a consistent volume of work. 
        • Having 2 or more years of experience (paid or unpaid!) working with children means you can provide 2 glowing references to tell us about your childcare experience. And, we’ll want a character reference as well!
        • Can reach assignments with a safe and reliable vehicle, current First Aid and CPR (or willingness to become certified), and a clean background screen.
        • You will want to ensure the safety of the children in your care at all times and maximize your time with the kiddos with engagement and active attention.

            A single parent in Delaware, Ohio is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Direct Support Professional/Caregiver with special needs experience to provide one-on-one support for their joyful 5-year-old son, who has Down syndrome.

            The young boy is a happy, affectionate child who loves to smile, give hugs, and connect with others. He enjoys puzzles, dinosaurs, Legos, outdoor play, and trips to the park, and thrives with a caregiver who is patient, playful, and encouraging.

            Schedule
            Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Flexible)
            Saturdays: Hours TBD
            20–25 hours per week
            Full-time hours available during the summer

            Responsibilities
            Provide consistent, one-on-one care in home and community settings
            Support feeding and fine motor skills during meals
            Assist with speech and communication, including use of a communication device
            Encourage developmental growth through play-based activities and routines
            Supervise outings to parks and outdoor spaces
            Promote independence while maintaining a safe, supportive environment

            Qualifications

                  Key Responsibilities

                  Pick up child from Maryland Elementary School.
                  Provide steady, attentive after-school care in a safe and caring environment.

                  Support social interaction and sensory activities suited to his developmental needs.
                  Maintain careful supervision, particularly around items Oliver may seek out or explore.

                        • Jovie Direct Support Professional

                          As a Jovie Direct Support Professional, you will provide one-on-one support to children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their home or community setting. Following a personalized plan of care, you’ll create a safe, nurturing environment that promotes confidence, independence, and meaningful connection. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, observant, and genuinely enjoys helping children grow through everyday moments and play-based experiences.

                          You may support children with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other medical or developmental needs, offering consistency and calm during afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

                          What You’ll Do
                          Build positive, supportive relationships through companionship and engagement
                          Encourage growth and independence through play, reading, creative activities, and routines
                          Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as meal prep, hygiene, dressing, or mobility support as needed
                          Implement individualized care plans as directed by the care coordinator
                          Observe and document behavior, mood, and overall well-being
                          Communicate regularly with families and the care team
                          Support participation in social activities and community outings when appropriate
                          Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow all safety protocols
                          Provide a calm, reassuring presence during moments of frustration, transition, or emotional need
                          Accurately record time, mileage, and visit notes
                          Respond appropriately to emergencies and report concerns promptly

                          Qualifications
                          High school diploma or equivalent
                          At least 1 year of related experience (professional, volunteer, or personal) supporting individuals with special needs or in a caregiving role.  
                          Strong communication and interpersonal skills
                          Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English
                          Reliable transportation with valid auto insurance
                          Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
                          Ability to pass a criminal background check
                          Comfortable working independently in family homes
                          Ability to assist with mobility needs and perform light lifting when required

                          Schedule Options
                          We offer flexible, pre-screened placements to fit your availability:
                          Weekly placements: Consistent families, weekday afternoons/evenings
                          Weekend shifts: Typically, 4–6 hours per day
                          Occasional care: Select open assignments through the My Jovie app
