Stuart Dupuy is Brand President of Jovie, the national nanny and babysitter brand operating nearly 200 territories across the United States as part of the Bright Horizons family of companies.
His work in childcare began in 1994, when he and his wife founded Mom’s Best Friend Household Staffing, a nanny placement agency in Texas. The business converted to College Nannies + Sitters in 2016 and became Jovie when the brand relaunched in 2022. Across that period Stuart owned and operated franchise territories in Texas and Illinois, and he continues to be a Jovie owner alongside his corporate role — a combination that keeps him close to the daily realities of placing caregivers and supporting families.
He was named Brand President in July 2023, bringing more than 30 years of experience building childcare businesses that have served thousands of families.
Before entering childcare full time, Stuart spent 17 years as an executive at Dell. He began his career as an attorney practicing commercial litigation at Fulbright & Jaworski.
Stuart holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Duke University, including a semester at the London School of Economics.
As Brand President his focus is the operational health of the Jovie network: franchisee profitability, caregiver recruitment and retention, and what he calls “sanity profitability” — the principle that a business should be sustainable for the people running it, not only on paper. Much of his current attention is on the caregiver staffing challenges facing the childcare industry and what it takes to attract and keep people in the profession.
Stuart lives in Austin, Texas. He and his wife have four children, ages 18 to 26. He is a competitive mountain biker and triathlete, and he and his family are active members of Austin Ridge Church.
"Childcare isn't a convenience, it's the infrastructure that lets working parents show up fully everywhere else in their lives."
