With extensive experience in personalized customer service, sales, and corporate account management, I thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments. I’ve had the privilege of contributing to several charitable organizations, with one of my most rewarding experiences being my work with Special Olympics, where I helped children achieve their goals.

In my free time, I enjoy playing golf, reading, and traveling. I often return to my hometown, St. Louis, to spend time with family and friends. As a franchise owner of Jovie, I’m committed to providing families with exceptional role models for their childcare needs and tutoring solutions. I'm excited to help strengthen families and contribute to the growth of our community.

General Manager

Hi! I’m Mariela, the General Manager of Jovie of Park Cities. My journey with Jovie began in 2016 as a sitter. After earning my Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, I was offered a part-time role as a Social Media Coordinator for Jovie Park Cities. A few months later, I transitioned into a full-time position as a Recruiting and Role Model Manager, which I found incredibly rewarding. Having started as a sitter, I gained a unique understanding of the challenges our team faces daily.

Now, as General Manager, I’m always looking for innovative ways to enhance our processes and grow the business. Outside of work, I love exploring everything Dallas has to offer!

Recruiting and Retention Manager

Hello! I’m Joanna, and I’ve been part of the Jovie family since 2018, starting as a sitter for families across DFW. During this time, I was also a full-time student at the University of North Texas, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Rehabilitation Services, with minors in Criminal Justice and Human Development and Family Sciences, in May 2020. I continued my education at UNT and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration, specializing in Rehabilitation Services, in May 2022.

After working as a nanny for a wonderful family, I transitioned to the role of Recruiting Coordinator in August 2022. Now, I provide training and resources to all our new hires. In my free time, I enjoy creating art, reading, and exploring new places, whether it’s discovering a scenic hiking trail or trying out a new restaurant.

Caregiver

Hello! I’m 23 years old with a bachelor’s degree in childcare management. I’ve always had a passion for inspiring and being a role model for kids. My first job was as a daycare assistant at a church when I was 16. That experience inspired me to continue learning about children and to work with them. I have worked at daycares while pursuing my college education and even worked at a summer church camp, which also taught me a lot. I’m really big on looking at Pinterest for ideas for arts and crafts projects and fun creative games to play. I love being able to inspire kids and lend a helping hand as well. In my free time, I enjoy reading. I used to read a lot more before college, but now that I have graduated, I have gotten back into it, and I enjoy every bit of it. I’m literally a fun open book and can’t wait to learn more about the families I will be working with!

Caregiver

With over a decade of experience in childcare and education, I have built a career centered around nurturing and guiding young minds. I’ve spent eight enriching years as a private nanny for the Nahas and Mayers families, where I developed a deep understanding of individualized care and family dynamics. Following this, I took on the role of Lead Teacher at Bright Horizons for two years, further honing my skills in early childhood education.

I’ve also served as a Teacher's Assistant at the UTD Callier Center for Communication Disorders, where I supported children with communication challenges and contributed to their developmental progress.

Outside of my professional achievements, I am a devoted mother of three and find joy in traveling, which allows me to explore new cultures and experiences. My diverse background, combined with my passion for both education and family, shapes my unique approach to childcare and teaching.

Vinny

Vinny

Emotional Support Pup

For five years, Vinny, our pint-sized Yorkshire Terrier, has been the furry beacon of joy at Jovie! With a nose for comfort and a knack for making friends, he’s not just a support dog; he’s the office’s chief cuddle officer!

When he’s not busy brightening everyone’s day with his irresistible charm, you can find Vinny embarking on epic adventures, such as daily walks that turn into grand explorations of the great outdoors (or just the best spots to sniff). He loves to watch the world go by from his favorite window perch, providing commentary on everything from squirrels to passing cars.

Whether he's snuggled up during a break or offering a comforting paw when stress levels rise, Vinny is here to remind us all to take a moment to breathe, relax, and enjoy life’s simple pleasures—preferably with a belly rub!

Jovie at Shoreline City Church

Recently, Jovie had the pleasure of working an event at Shoreline City Church, where 26 of our dedicated sitters came together to connect with children of all ages. The atmosphere was filled with joy and laughter as our sitters led a variety of fun activities, from arts and crafts to interactive games.

The event provided a wonderful opportunity for our sitters to showcase their creativity and nurturing spirit while fostering meaningful connections with the children. Both the kids and sitters had a fantastic time, creating lasting memories and building community.

We’re grateful to Shoreline City Church for trusting us and to our incredible team for their enthusiasm and dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of families.
