  • A Fairfax family is seeking an exceptional full-time Governess / Household Manager to become a steady, nurturing presence for two wonderful girls during a deeply transitional season for their family.     The family will soon be navigating the loss of their mother to cancer.
    Father is a busy professional who travels frequently and is seeking a trusted partner in the home to provide consistency, emotional support, and guidance for his daughters.
    The family shares Christian values and is looking for someone aligned with those principles.

    Position Overview
    This role blends governess-level childcare with household management, with a strong emphasis on:
    Academic support and school engagement
    Emotional nurturing and role modeling
    Social and activity coordination
    Creating a calm, loving, and well-organized home environment

    This is not a typical nanny role—it is a Mary Poppins gold-standard position for someone who leads with heart, structure, and grace.

    Schedule & Compensation
    Full-Time
    Hours:
    Mornings (school preparation and household oversight)
    Afternoons: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM
    Flexibility required for overnight stays when father is traveling
    Live-in or Live-out options available

    Pay: $25–$27 per hour (based on experience)

    Key Responsibilities
    Child-Focused Responsibilities
    Serve as a loving, steady role model and emotional support for both girls
    Emphasis on school success and academic enrichment
    Assist with homework, school projects, and learning organization
    Coordinate extracurricular activities, playdates, and transportation
    Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children
    Participate in school communication, “mom chats,” and school community involvement
    Foster social skills, confidence, kindness, and emotional resilience

    Household & Family Support
    Manage children’s schedules, calendars, and activity logistics
    Coordinate with school, tutors, and activity providers
    Maintain organized routines and systems within the home
    Support a peaceful, structured environment during father’s travel
    Provide continuity, reassurance, and warmth during a time of change

    Job Certifications:

    • First Aid and CPR
    • High School Diploma or GED
