Special Needs Part-Time Nanny — 2 Evenings Per Month

Job Description:

  • Jovie Nannies of Edmond is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dependable nanny to provide consistent care for an 8-year-old girl with autism. This is a long-term, part-time role supporting a family who values stability and clear communication. The role will primarily focus on safe after-school pick-up, supervision, and creating a calm, engaging environment during the evening routine.

    While the current schedule is two evenings per month (Tuesdays), additional days may be added in the fall or winter. The ideal candidate will have special needs experience and be comfortable working with nonverbal or minimally verbal children.

    Family’s Preferences

    Special Needs Experience: Prior experience with autism required; RBT background is a plus.

    Pet Friendly: Must be comfortable with one cat and a young puppy.

    Transportation: Reliable vehicle required for school pick-up (mileage reimbursed).

    Allergy Awareness: Child is gluten- and dairy-free; family provides designated meal supplies.

    Schedule; 2 Tuesdays a month from 3:30-8:30 PM 

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Pick up child from school and transport safely to home.
    • Provide after-school snack and prompt for bathroom use.
    • Engage in preferred activities (reading, music, dancing, dolls, light play).
    • Prepare and serve dinner (simple, allergy-safe meals provided).
    • Support evening routine: bathroom, brushing teeth, administering medication, and bedtime.
    • Use calm, clear tone for redirection and behavioral guidance.
    • Maintain safety awareness, especially regarding water and climbing.


    Minimum Hiring Requirements — Jovie Nannies of Edmond

    • Must be at least 18 years old.
    • At least 2 years of professional childcare experience (nanny, babysitter, daycare, teaching, etc.).
    • Strong childcare references  
    • CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain before start date).
    • Pass a comprehensive background screen.
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation.
    • Ability to commit to the agreed-upon schedule.
