- Afterschool Family Assistant / Driver – Columbus Family
Location: Columbus, OH
Schedule: Weekdays, approximately 3:00 PM–7:00 PM (hours may vary slightly based on activities)
Start Date: Immediately
About Our Family
We’re a busy, welcoming family in Columbus looking for a caring and dependable person to help keep our afternoons running smoothly. Our children are active and involved in several afterschool programs, and we’re hoping to find someone who can support them with safe transportation, calm transitions, and positive encouragement at the end of their school day.
Responsibilities
Provide safe, reliable transportation to and from school, practices, lessons, and other scheduled activities
Support smooth transitions by helping the kids stay organized and prepared
Communicate clearly with parents about schedules, updates, and any concerns
Assist with light child-related tasks, such as preparing snacks or tidying up after activities
Create a patient, upbeat, and supportive atmosphere during rides and transitions
Requirements
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Reliable vehicle with proper insurance (mileage reimbursement available if using your own vehicle)
Prior experience working with children (nannying, teaching, coaching, camp counseling, etc.)
Punctual, trustworthy, and confident managing busy afterschool routines
Enjoys being around children and understands their developmental needs
Compensation
Competitive hourly rate, based on experience.We Hope You Will Bring
Experience caring for children (paid or unpaid) and at least two references
Current CPR/First Aid certification—or willingness to complete it
Reliable transportation and a working cell phone
Flexibility and comfort traveling from the family’s home to various activities
Open communication with both parents and your staffing supervisor, along with a warm presence the kids can look forward to each afternoon
