  Position Overview
  
  A warm and active family in North Bexley is seeking a reliable after-school nanny to provide respite care for their 7-year-old son, who has Sanfilippo Syndrome. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on interaction, understands developmental needs, and is comfortable supporting a child who communicates nonverbally.
  
  Their son is an energetic, curious child who expresses himself through gestures, sounds, and actions. He loves to explore, play with figurines, and spend time outdoors. Because of his short attention span and natural curiosity, he benefits from a caregiver who can offer consistent supervision, create safe opportunities for exploration, and engage him in playful, sensory-rich activities.
  
  Key Responsibilities
  
  
  Pick up child from Maryland Elementary School.
  Provide steady, attentive after-school care in a safe and caring environment.
  Engage him in active, hands-on play both indoors and outside.
  Support social interaction and sensory activities suited to his developmental needs.
  Maintain careful supervision, particularly around items Oliver may seek out or explore.
  Assist with simple routines such as snacks, toileting, and transition times.
  Communicate clearly with parents about daily activities, observations, and any questions or concerns.
  
  Qualifications
  
  Experience supporting children with special needs—especially developmental, neurological, or behavioral differences—is preferred.
  Comfortable with an active caregiving role and able to follow Oliver’s pace and interests.
  Patient, reliable, and calm in a busy, sensory-rich environment.
  Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation (school pickup required).
