- Respite Caregiver – Make a Lasting Difference
Pay: $17.50–$18.50 per hour

Our respite caregivers support children and teens with diverse developmental, medical, and behavioral needs—including autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other diagnoses. What You’ll Do
As part of our Respite Care Team, you’ll provide individualized, relationship-based care that helps each child grow with confidence. Responsibilities include:
Creating a safe, supportive environment
Build trust and connection with children and their families
Navigate challenging behaviors with calm, consistent strategies
Following individualized care plans
Work closely with parents, therapists, and care teams
Support developmental, educational, and behavioral goals
Managing specialized care needs
Assist with mobility, communication tools, and adaptive equipment
Administer medication as directed
Supporting daily living skills
Help with routines such as eating, dressing, and personal hygiene
Encourage independence at every level
Planning engaging activities and outings
Coordinate sensory play, crafts, outdoor fun, and other enriching experiences tailored to each child
Fostering social and emotional growth
Guide children as they practice social skills, develop friendships, and build confidence
Keeping communication strong
Provide updates to families
Collaborate on strategies that support ongoing progress
Additional duties
Light housekeeping and meal prep
Transportation to appointments or activities (with mileage reimbursement)
Current Opportunities
We’re hiring nannies and sitters for flexible roles with our pre-screened families:
Weekly placements with consistent families (weekday afternoons/evenings)
Weekend shifts (typically 4-hour blocks; choose one or two per day)
Occasional care—select open assignments through the My Jovie App
Who Thrives in This Role

Warm, engaging, and ready to connect with kids in their home environment
Confident creating fun, meaningful moments through play, reading, and hands-on activities
Experienced with special needs (through work, school, volunteering, or personal life)
Able to provide childcare references
Available for 4-hour shifts between 3–7pm on weekdays or 10am–7pm on weekends
Reliable with transportation and personal auto insurance
