Job Description:
- Experienced Nanny for Vibrant Family of Three (Spectrum Experience Required
Schedule: Part-time summer
Late April/Summer: 3–4 weekdays (estimated 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM once ABA therapy begins) plus Saturdays.
Flexibility Note: Schedule is provided one week in advance based on the mother's 8-hour work shifts.
Position Overview
A busy, professional household is looking for a reliable, high-energy, and patient nanny to care for three wonderful children (ages 10, 7, and 3.5). This role is ideal for someone who is safety-conscious and has a heart for working with children on the autism spectrum. You will be joining a home that values gentle discipline, routine, and positive energy.
The Children
Oldest Daughter (11): A smart, helpful "social butterfly" who loves school. She is energetic and becoming very independent.
Middle Daughter (8): A vibrant and "boss baby" personality. She is well-behaved for teachers and enjoys entertaining herself.
Youngest Son (4): A sweet, calm boy who is non-verbal (Level 3 Spectrum) and communicates through gestures. He loves Disney Junior, Legos, and sensory play with blankets and blocks.
Key Responsibilities
Specialized Care: Provide attentive, one-on-one engagement for the youngest child. Support his routine, including diaper changes (working toward potty training) and sensory-friendly play.
Meal Management: Prepare simple, preferred meals for a picky eater (pancakes, chicken nuggets, crispy bacon). The youngest is a "grazer" who eats on the move—comfort with this style of dining is essential.
Transportation: Once the youngest begins ABA therapy (estimated within 6 weeks), you will be responsible for picking him up from his facility at 3:00 PM.
Safety & Environment: Maintain a safe environment, particularly by keeping bathroom doors closed and keeping shoes out of reach (the youngest is a "lace spinner").
Conflict Resolution: Use redirection and age-appropriate coping techniques to manage typical sibling bickering between the older girls.
Pet Care: Let out the family’s calm, sweet Labrador in the morning.
Requirements
Spectrum Experience: Proven experience working with children on the autism spectrum (non-verbal experience is a significant plus).
Nanny Experience: Solid background in professional childcare with multiple children.
Reliability: Must be highly dependable, as the work schedule depends on your presence.
Credentials: CPR and First Aid certified.
Transportation: Must have a reliable vehicle, a clean driving record, a valid driver's license, and current auto insurance.
Demeanor: Gentle, kind, and capable of maintaining a calm energy in a busy household.
