Job Overview
Jovie of Greater Kansas City is seeking a professional, reliable, and infant-experienced nanny to join our team for a placement with a science-minded family in Midtown. This household prioritizes a structured, "low-to-no screen" environment for their 6-week-old son.
This role is ideal for a caregiver who thrives in an engaged environment and enjoys focusing on developmental milestones through reading, music, and play rather than digital entertainment. While the father works outside the home, the mother works from a dedicated home office on a separate floor; the nanny will have primary "lead" authority over the child's daily routine.
Nanny Responsibilities
Infant Specialist Care: Managing all aspects of care for a newborn, including bottle feeding, sleep hygiene, and laundry.
Specialized Health Support: Confidently managing infant reflux (keeping baby upright for 20-30 mins post-feed) and monitoring mild eczema.
Developmental Engagement: Facilitating a screen-free environment. Use of audio/music is encouraged, but personal and household screens are restricted during work hours.
Pet Management: Providing a friendly environment for the family’s social and well-behaved Lab.
Jovie Requirements for Hire
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional, verifiable childcare experience (Infant experience required).
Education & Safety: High School Diploma or equivalent; Current CPR/First Aid certification.
Vetting: Must pass Jovie’s rigorous background check process, including criminal, social security, and driving record audits.
Reliability: Valid driver’s license and a reliable, insured vehicle.
Allergy Consideration: Due to severe allergies in the placement home, the nanny must not have cats in their own home and must be dander-free.
