Morning & Afternoon Nanny

Position Type: Part Time

Position Location: Kansas City, MO

Office: Jovie of Greater Kansas City

Job Description:

  • Jovie of Greater Kansas City is seeking a proactive, high-energy, and empathetic nanny to join a wonderful family near Parkville. This role is perfect for someone who loves a mix of logistical management and active play. You will be supporting two bright children (ages 9 and 12) through their morning routines and evening extracurriculars.

Schedule: This is an as-needed schedule as mom finishes her education and would coordinate with other families to work with:
    Monday–Friday, Split Shift (6:00 AM – 9:00 AM & 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
    Key Responsibilities

Morning Mastery: Arrive at 6:00 AM to help jumpstart the day. You’ll guide the children through their visual checklists, prepare simple breakfasts, and ensure they are dropped off at school by 8:30 AM with all gear in hand.

Active Afternoons: Pick up the children at 4:00 PM. Support includes driving to gymnastics practices, supervising outdoor play (rollerblading/biking), and engaging in board games or Oculus sessions.

Household Support: Keep the home humming by handling the "laundry flip," light meal prep (tacos, pasta, meatloaf), and keeping the common areas tidy.

Emotional Support: Provide a patient, validating environment for a social pre-teen and an easy-going 9-year-old.

    What We’re Looking For

A Self-Starter: You see what needs to be done and take care of it without a reminder.

Safety Conscious: You are firm about helmet/pad safety and strictly adhere to the home’s No-Fish Policy due to a severe family allergy.

Engaged Playmate: You’d rather be in the cul-de-sac watching them ride bikes or playing a board game than sitting on the sidelines.

    Jovie Minimum Hiring Requirements

To be considered for this or any position with Jovie, candidates must meet the following:

Experience: At least 2 years of verifiable childcare experience (nannying, sitting, teaching, or camp counseling).

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Transportation: Must have a reliable, insured vehicle and a valid driver’s license (required for school transport and activities).

Legal Status: Must be legally authorized to work in the US.

Safety: Must be CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to become certified before starting).

Background: Must pass a comprehensive background check and driving record screen.

    Compensation & Benefits

Competitive hourly wage based on experience.

    Travel/mileage reimbursement for on-the-clock driving.
