Social Media Intership

Position Type: Internship

Position Location: Edina, MN

Office: Jovie of Edina

Job Description:

  • About Jovie Nannies + Sitters

Jovie Nannies + Sitters connects families with trusted, professional childcare. We support working parents and caregivers with reliable nanny and sitter services, and we're growing the brand across digital channels. Our marketing team is small, collaborative, and focused on showing families and caregivers what makes Jovie different.

    About the Role

We're hiring a Summer Marketing Intern to help shape and amplify Jovie's local presence online. This is a hands-on role that blends execution and ownership: you'll publish provided social content on a consistent cadence, but you'll also drive original work — generating blog ideas, building out a year-long content calendar, and keeping our local website pages fresh and relevant to the families and caregivers in our community.

You'll have meaningful support along the way. Our Franchise Owner and Managing Director will guide social and Google Business Profile work, and our Franchisor's marketing team will provide editorial support on your blog drafts. But the ideas, topics, and local point of view will come from you.

This is a great fit for a college student studying marketing, communications, or a related field who is comfortable on social platforms, has a point of view, and is excited to plan and create content — not just push it out.

    What You'll Do

    Social Media Posting

•Schedule and publish pre-written posts (copy and creative provided) across Jovie's social channels on a consistent cadence.

•Monitor comments and basic engagement, flagging anything that needs a response from the Franchise Owner and Managing Director.

•Help track simple performance metrics (reach, engagement, follows) and share weekly snapshots.

    Google Business Profile

•Keep Google Business Profile listings accurate and up to date (hours, photos, descriptions, service areas).

•Publish regular Google posts and updates.

•Help monitor reviews and route them to the right team member for response.

    Blog Strategy & Writing

•Generate original blog ideas and topics that resonate with local families and caregivers (e.g., parenting tips, caregiver spotlights, seasonal/local family resources).

•Build and maintain a year-long blog content calendar, mapping topics to seasons, school cycles, and local events.

•Draft posts and refine them with editorial support from the Franchisor's marketing team.

•Follow basic SEO best practices (titles, headings, internal links) with guidance.

    Local Website Pages

•Keep our local website pages current — updating copy, dates, photos, and service info as things change.

•Add locally relevant content (community events, neighborhood spotlights, seasonal updates) so pages feel rooted in the families we serve.

•Partner with the Franchise Owner and Managing Director to identify opportunities to improve clarity, accuracy, and local SEO across pages.

    What We're Looking For

•Currently enrolled as a college undergraduate, ideally studying marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.

•Comfortable and active on major social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn) — you understand what makes content work on each.

•Strong written communication and attention to detail.

•Reliable, organized, and able to manage your own time in a fully remote environment.

•Curious and proactive — willing to ask questions and bring ideas to the table.

•Bonus: familiarity with Google Business Profile, basic SEO, Canva, or scheduling tools (Later, Buffer, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, etc.).

    What You'll Gain

•Real-world experience executing a multi-channel marketing program for a growing brand.

•Direct mentorship from a Franchise Owner and Managing Director and exposure to how content, social, and local search fit together.

•Portfolio-ready work — published blog posts, social campaigns, and measurable results you can point to.

•Flexible, remote work that fits around your class schedule, with the option to continue into the school year.

    Logistics

Start: June 2026 (flexible based on academic calendar)

Duration: 10 weeks summer, with optional continuation into the school year at 6–8 hours/week

Hours: 10–12 hours/week summer; flexible scheduling

    Pay: $18/hour

Equipment: Reliable laptop and internet required
