Job Description:
- A busy and loving family in Lexington are seeking a tween savvy, proactive and engaging afterschool nanny to care for their 8 and 10 year olds. Both parents look forward to welcoming a nanny to help support their children’s homework and to engage them in creative fun. Their 10 year old daughter loves reading, dance and being outdoors. Their 8 year old loves sports such as soccer and basketball and staying busy. The parents look forward to finding a caring and engaging nanny, who can be a gentle motivator, supportive overseer of schoolwork, and who successfully gets the kids outdoors and off screens whenever possible – an all-around fun-loving and enriching role model.
This position is ideal for a candidate who is organized, motivated, enjoys being active, and part of a collaborative school-play environment but also someone who can engage in down-time. A background in education, whether teaching or tutoring, will be a bonus. Other day-to-day tasks include preparing lunches and snacks, folding children’s laundry, driving to activities (a car is required), encouraging the kids to pick up after themselves and pitching in to the overall tidiness of playroom/spaces. The family are animal lovers and have two cats and two dogs.
• This position starts September 3rd and goes through June 20th.
• Schedule is part time: Monday to Wednesday 12-6pm, Thursday 11:30-6 and Fridays 11:30-4:30.
